Each Committee is organize and ready accept assistance. Time commitment on each of our events is approximately 2 hours each month leading up to it, then working the event.
We plan activities surrounding winter sports, such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tubing, etc. A Parade of Lights through town, fireworks over the Open Cut and a bond fire (burning of the Christmas trees) in the Homestake Visitor Center parking lot.
Annual Banquet (January, February or March)
The Annual Banquet is theme oriented (new theme selected each year). This committee plans and organizes this event in appreciation for our members.
Black Hills Wine Festival (May)
This is a 3-day event centered, in part, on Lead’s wine history. Responsibilities include inviting wineries and food vendors that to participate; setting up locations for wine tasting, passport classes, give-a-ways, etc.
National Trails Day on the Mickelson Trail (June)
This is a half-day event (approximately 4 hours). Responsibilities include securing and ordering t-shirts, snacks, drinks, prizes, etc.
Gold Camp Jubilee Days (4th of July)
Approximately, 10,000 people attend this large event. Activities and vendors in Manual Brothers Park, Live Entertainment, a Tri-City Parade and fireworks over the Open Cut. Many volunteers are need for this.
Mile High Bike Fest (During Sturgis Rally Week in August)
This event runs one week, from Friday to Thursday, with Tuesday being our theme day. Throughout the week, we have vendors, music and a “Watering Hole” (aka: Beer Tent) etc. On our theme day we have bike competitions, lady’s show ‘n shine, entertainment, helicopter rides and more all in the Homestake Visitor Center parking lot and Manual Brothers Park.
Flavor of Lead Festival (September)
This event recognizes Lead’s ethnic heritage. We schedule a potluck Friday with activities and entertainment on Saturday. The local restaurant that is the winner of the best ethnic food contest is awarded our traveling trophy, the Golden Wiener.
This committee works towards assisting businesses to grow through marketing ideas to target their public specifically.
The Membership Committee uses resources in recruiting and retaining businesses and individuals for the Chamber.
Decorating CommitteeThis committee has the privilege of assisting with the decorating of events. These events include: WinterFest Float, Annual Banquet, Gold Camp Jubilee Day (4th of July) - VIP Party, Holiday Open House, etc.
