Lead, SD is an outdoor enthusiasts dream! Just minutes away from this quaint old mining town there are: golfing in the beautiful hills, hiking on hundreds of hiking trails, fishing in Spearfish Canyon and other small streams, ATVing is a great way to see more of the Black Hills, mountain biking on the Mickelson Trail is a local favorite, camping, rock climbing, and hunting. In the winter months Lead, has on the average a couple hundred inches of snow. This allows the Black Hills to have a fantastic snow base for skiers on our two downhill ski areas, miles of gorgeous cross country ski trails, and snow shoeing. Snowmobilers will enjoy over three hundred miles of groomed trails. There is enough snow for everyone!
