Christmas Light Decorating Contest

Come Visit LEAD's winter wonderland!

The LACC is doing a marketing campaign to invite families to participate in the age old tradition of driving around simply to look at lights. Visitors will also be invited to participate in our other events including Lead Live, Shop Local, and events at the Historic Homestake Opera House as well as patron local businesses. Thank you for helping make Lead look like the Christmas Village it is, and for making Lead, Miles Beyond Ordinary!

Light up Lead Rules & Regulations

Schedule:
Registration & decorating: 11/1-11/31
Lights on: 12/1-31
Judging: 12/1 - 12/8
Prize announcement: 12/12 @ the Shop Local Wrap Up Party

Registration:
-$25 gets you into the judging.
-Your address (not name) will be placed on our map of participants (for tourists to visit Lead).
-Registration forms can be picked up at Ace Hardware of Lead.
-Completed registration forms should be brought with payment to the Lead Area Chamber of Commerce’s offices (inside the Gnarly Pine Makerspace) at 318 West Main St.

Judging:
Judging will take place with a panel of several judges December 1st - 8th.  Judges will not have access to participants names, only their addresses.  Participants will be judged based on the following criteria on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best); Brightness, Festivity, Creativity, Neatness, & Overall.  Announcement of the winners will occur on December 12th at the Shop Local Wrap Up Party Mixer at 5pm.

Rules:
-This competition is open to any residential address in Lead. Must be within city limits.
*No purchase necessary to enter - sponsorships are available if you cannot afford to pay.
-Judging is done by a panel chosen by the LACC.
-Judges and board members are not eligible to win - though they are encouraged to participate!

Participants are asked to leave their lights on from December 1-31 from dusk until 10pm (minimum) so that the town can enjoy their efforts.
