Time Is A Many Splendored Thing

Hello Lead (and friends of Lead)!

Lately I’ve been considering time. How both long and short it all feels – particularly summer. If you have a second check out this blog post https://waitbutwhy.com/2015/12/the-tail-end.html I read it a few years ago and it’s stuck with me. Looking at our time visually (particularly with regards to our relationships) is shocking.

And speaking of fleeting, summer is flying by – I’m already making plans for our winter festivals and events! I’m making plans to squeeze the very most out of the rest of the summer. Camping, tubing the Niobrara, golfing (if it would stop raining in the evenings!). What will you do with these last seven weekends?

Here’s what’s happening around town:

Today, Thursday, July 18 –
3pm – Pie Social! These are always a nice break in my Thursday. I love seeing you guys, having some homemade pie and listening to some great music. If you have an instrument bring it down and jam with our lovely musicians!
5-7pm – July Chamber Mixer! Tonight at Aspire Boutique! Drinks, food, fun hanging out.

Tomorrow, Friday July 19 – High noon, History on the Lawn at the Adam’s House Museum. David Vardiman will be talking about Dr. Donald McLaughlin who was contracted to investigate the geologic origins of the Homestake Gold Deposit. If you’ve never heard one of David’s history talks you won’t want to miss this – he makes all the history super interesting!
7pm – Northern Hills Community Band is playing at the Historic Homestake Opera House. This is free but donations are encouraged.

Sunday, July 21 – 7am, Mile High Challenge Mountain Bike Race/Ride. The Northern Hills Recreation Association invites you to their 2nd annual bike race. Registration starts at Lotus up on Sunday morning. Cost is $35 and includes a tshirt. See their website for more details. https://www.northernhillsrec.org/milehigh

Monday, July 22 – 6pm, Monday Madness Summer Rec League. This is the second to last event of the summer so if you haven’t been this is a good time to go play. All ages welcome, $5 for non members and free for members. Meet at Manuel Brother’s Park.
