It was the best of times and … it was all the best of times.

Goooood Morning, Lead!

Another Winterfest in the books! It was really amazing to stand on the Visitor Center deck and watch the show after having them postponed for an entire year!

I feel so incredibly excited by everything that’s happening here in Lead (more business, more new construction, more people, more traffic, more sales tax!!) And I am so so honored that people feel confident and comfortable partnering with us here at the Chamber – it’s true that people put their money where their mouth is.

Watching those fireworks with several of our loyal sponsor representatives I felt really moved by people’s incredible confidence in what we’re doing. Annual Sponsors aren’t just companies or names, but actual people, working real jobs, with real stresses and the fact that they are willing to commit their real money to help us make Lead even a bit cooler just blows me away!

I got a little teary eyed with pride and love for Lead, our partners and everyone who stands behind us in support for all that we’re doing! Thank you so much! And if you’re reading this, then thank you for that too – just for caring enough about our little town to keep tabs on what we’re up to – it means a lot!

And speaking of those real people, and real jobs deciding to partner with us using their real money a BIG HUGE shout out to those groups: Thyssen Mining Company, Black Hills Energy , Lynn’s Dakotamart, Homestake Mining Company, Deadwood Lead Economic Development, Blackstone Lodge & Suites, VFW #5969, Mile Up Marketing, KEVN Fox, Black Hills Title, Whites Queen City Motors, Monument Health, Coeur Wharf, and the City of Lead. And if you still want to jump in, there’s lots of room as we continue to come up with great events and ways to include you in everything great happening here in town!

Thank you as well to our membership and everyone who worked so hard to make Winterfest a success including Recreational Springs Resort, Jailhouse Taps, Blackstone Lodge & Suites, the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, Whitetail Creek Resort, Boys & Girls Club of the Black Hills, Explore Fitness & Adventures, Assembly of God church, Connections church, the Lead Volunteer Fire Department, the City crew and our volunteers!

______ News & Notes

Trinity United Methodist Church is looking to hire a permanent part time custodian. If you’re interested check out our job listing board. Have a job listing you’d like to add? Let us know!

The Library has a weekly virtual story time. If you’re interested email Sarah at [email protected] for the link and information. They may still be closed but they’re working hard to continue to provide value to the community. We all hope to see them soon!

Thanks to Northern Hills Recreation Association for grooming the non motorized trail at Tomahawk golf course. Due to the sad lack of snow if the gates are locked it’s because the golf course deems the snow too thin. If they’re unlocked it’s open! Please consider leaving a donation for NHRA if you enjoy the course.

This is the last week for getting an ad in our annual LEAD magazine! If you’re worried about cost we have lots of very affordable ⅛ page sizes, and it’s a great way to get your business/event/organization in 18,000 copies all over the hills and across the state at the rest stops. These have been very popular so you won’t want to miss this deadline! (Open to members and non members alike – call Thomas for more info, pricing and sizes.)

Red Chair’s open at Terry Peak! Check the website for conditions and more info!

Explore Fitness & Adventures has added YOGA to their lineup of fitness classes. See their entire schedule on their website. Other classes include Zumba, adult dance, couples dance, ballet, kids dance and boot camp fitness.

Snow is awesome at Eagle Cliffs if you’re looking to do some cross country skiing or snowshoeing! It will probably be even better after this weekend’s storms! Never been? Explore Fitness & Adventures can take you on a great adventure!
