Weird Times at Mile High

Hello, you get two emails in one week! Lucky you!

I hope you are all healthy and safe. Please take courage, this won’t last forever. History is in the making here, and you can say you got through it! “Remember that time we all had to stay home and the world ground to a surreal halt? That was crazy times!”

We’ve been trying to keep our calendar as updated as possible. If you have any other information let us know. We are committed to trying to support Lead, and our small business partners throughout the Black Hills. If you are able to please consider supporting business even if it means driving by with pick up. Please remember your small businesses during these difficult weeks.

El Jefe’s is offering curbside pickup. Call in, pay over the phone and they’ll bring out your order.

From Dan Leikvold: “Students enrolled in the Lead-Deadwood School District will be served free breakfast and lunch. All meals will be distributed at the High School through the outside cafeteria door beginning on March 23 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. On Monday, they will receive lunch for Monday and Breakfast for Tuesday. Tuesday they will receive Tuesday lunch and Wednesday breakfast. Thursday receive Thursday lunch and Friday breakfast. Friday they will receive Friday lunch and a breakfast. This will continue for the length of the closure.”

The St. Patrick’s Day dinner has been postponed indefinitely at St. Pat’s Catholic church.

The Spring Fling in Whitewood has been canceled. You can still view Jenny Arehearts Plunder jewelry line here: https://www.plunderdesign.com/jennymarehart

Lead City Hall and Library are closed. You can contact Mike Stahl via email: [email protected] if you have city business to conduct.

The Visitor Center and Chamber offices remain closed thru 3/31 when we will reassess the situation.

This is definitely a financially uncertain time. Insurance might not be at the forefront of your mind, but if you don’t have health insurance, or are worried about the cost of insurance please contact Deb at Spearfish Insurance Brokerage, she can help review your plans or help you find possibly low or no cost health coverage. Just a reminder that we have two open board spots to fill. Interested chamber members (or member business representatives) should send their name, and a short paragraph of why they’d like to be on the board and what they can bring to the table to my email. Deadline for submission is Wednesday 3/25 at 11:59pm.

If there’s ANYTHING I can do to help, please let me know!
Now back to Marie Kondo-ing my house 😛
