Winter Rocks

Hello Hello Hello!

Many many moons ago I lived in Los Angeles. It was an interesting experience to say the least and maybe someday I’ll tell you all about it. The weather was almost always beautiful, never colder than about 50 and almost never hotter than 90. Right at sea level the oxygen levels are amazing, and a pleasant breeze blows all the smog somewhere else so the sky is always clear and beautiful. I could begin to understand why it was such an expensive place to live – everybody wanted to be there! But one of the weird things I noticed with generally perfect unchanging weather every day of every month was that it got increasingly hard to mark time and to even remember where in the year you were. I missed winter. Thank goodness I moved back to a place with a lot of it!! Now I can easily remember where we are (unless it’s snowing in May) and each year has clear markers of time. Phew!

Several months ago I wrote about how since we choose to live here we should relish our winters. And Winterfest is just that – a celebration of all things winter! We hope you’ll enjoy the program we’ve put together this year!! It’s been a bit weird since for most of the last few weeks I’ve been out on maternity leave, but Leigha has done a great job keeping everything on track! Thanks to everyone who hosts events and also to all of you who come out and enjoy the fun with us!! I hope to see you this weekend!!

Here’s what’s happening on this jam packed weekend!! We’ll get some fresh snow today and enjoy some awesome warmer weather this weekend!! You can see the entire schedule here www.LeadMeThere.org/winterfest
