Good Morning!
It’s funny when you go unicorn hunting. What at first seems like an impossible animal to find actually becomes something you see everywhere. I had so many great interviews this month for the Assistant Director position. Sadly, I could only hire one person (at this time). Hayley started Monday, some of you may have met her when she brought around 4th of July posters. It was especially helpful to have her this week with all the craziness of wrapping up everything for 4th of July! The newsletter is also going out today (that also had to get finished this week) so check out her letter in that. I think we’re going to have a raucous good time!
If you’d like a poster for 4th of July please let me know and we can bring one by either tomorrow or Monday.

Today, Thursday 6/27:
3pm – Pie Social! Today we have homemade apple and peach from Susan Anderson. I’ve had her apple pie and let me just tell you, I’m kind of a pie snob and this is one of the best apple pies I’ve ever had. Just two pies, so come get while the gettin’s good!
5pm-7pm – June mixer! Tonight’s shin-dig is a luau at Ponderosa Pines Inns and Cabins. Some have told me this is one of their favorite mixers so don’t miss! Luau attire is encouraged but not required 🙂
5pm – Also happening tonight is the Sanford Lab Photowalk at the Lead-Deadwood Arts Council.

1pm – Come down to the Visitors Center for a book signing with Anne Charles. This was a lot of fun last year (so I hear) and you won’t want to miss it if you’ve read Anne Charles books. (Fun Fact: Sarah, from Sarah’s Hair Studio, also told me that the main character from the books is also featured in their Lead mural on the side of Miners & Merchants Trading Post).
This weekend is the calm before the storm of GOLD CAMP JUBILEE.

If you see those city crew guys around be sure to tell them how awesome they are. As I write this they’re busy setting up our circus tent for the beer garden. 4th of July my favorite holiday and it’s going to be awesome!
