Let’s Do This!

Gooooood Morning Lead!

I love decorating for Christmas. It’s so cozy and happy! I’m definitely a more is more kinda gal so I love the extra-ness of decorating. Then just as suddenly I’m tired of it. After the holidays all I want is to box it all up and clean. Taking everything down gives a fresh start and makes me feel like I can breathe again. I’m also ready to go through every drawer and cupboard and closet and throw half of what I have away (okay, let’s be honest it’s probably on 10% I can part with now, but soon I’ll do another 10%). I’m pooped from the mad flurry of activity and deadlines and short work weeks and I’m ready to be back to normal.

This year will continue to be different and challenging in its own ways I’m sure. That said, we’re gonna keep on going, keep on planning and keep on getting things done. We are cooking up some wonderful things for 2021 here at the Chamber – hopefully you’ll get a card in the mail (if you live in the 57754 zip) with a schedule of our planned events soon so keep your eyes peeled!

We’re also planning great ways to engage with our tourists this coming season (more on that to come) and ways we can better serve our member businesses and our community as a whole.

Welcome to 2021, let’s do this!!

We’re excited about our first STEAM class (will be every month on second Tuesdays), hosted by Leigha Patterson. The cost for the class is $15 for non-members and $10 for members of the SLHVC and includes all materials. There is also the option to get a punch card if you plan to come to all the classes (Jan-Oct). Call Leigha for more information or to reserve your spot! 584-3110

Terry Peak – With our sad lack of snow and warm weather they are still not able to open the entire mountain. This means they’ve reached capacity almost as soon as they open on weekend days. So if you’re not a season pass holder be sure to call ahead or get there right at opening. This week they opened Kussy!

Thyssen Mining Company has set up shop at their new location under the Lead Lofts! Be sure to glance at their beautiful office space next time you drive by. We’re super excited to have them in town and that they’re a great partner with the Chamber! Looking forward to a fantastic three years with them!

Last week I talked about my word of the year – embrace (embrace walking, embrace each other, embrace health etc.) and I asked for your words, I got a whole bunch which was awesome! Here are some of yours: Truckin’, Second, Get ‘er Done, Resilient, Redemption, Today, Fabulous, Change. If you didn’t pick one yet let me know what it is!

We’re getting everything for Winterfest (last weekend of January) nailed down! If you want to see some of what’s cookin’ check out our page: www.Leadmethere.org/winterfest We’ve added a few new things and changed some things based on last year’s feedback so be sure to check it out!

We’re also working towards getting all of our annual sponsors lined up! It’s not too late to become a sponsor and get all the goodies we’re including from winterfest! If you’d like more information let Thomas know! He’d love to chit chat with you! [email protected]

I hope you’re having a fantastical 2021 so far!
