Where’s The Beef

Good Morning Lead!

This year has been NUTS! But I’ve been really happy to hear that most of our businesses in Lead are continuing to scratch out a living and survive. As the Chamber Director it’s always our goal to support business with everything we do. Right now we’re trying to prepare for Gold Camp Jubilee – making it more fun than ever! Our goal with events is two fold – to bring people to Lead, and to bring them into your business. We’re working hard to do both of those things with this event. Stay tuned in the next few weeks as we finalize the schedule and get everything pinned down. For now we do have a few things we’d like you to keep on your radar:

Sunday 9/6
The Gold Tournament will be at Lead Country Club
The Volleyball Tournament will be starting Sunday at Manuel Brothers Park
We’re planning something fun Sunday evening but still hashing out the details

Monday 9/7
The Labor Day Parade will be starting in Lead at 10am
-we’re working with Deadwood to continue the parade down their Main Street as well
The Yahtzee Run is making a return
The Fireworks will be the grand finale – (This switch is an effort to try and help the very limited parks crew and we realize that both nights have pros and cons. But we’re glad that it doesn’t happen nearly as late as at the 4th of July!)

2020 has been a gigantic roll of the dice with how things will work out (and my hope is that in five year we can look back and go “Wow, that was a weird year.”) Stay tuned for all the details!

______ Here’s what’s going on this weekend ______

The summer is always a little slower for events, and that’s no different this year.

This weekend marks the start of August (sigh… how did summer already go so quickly?) Rally is coming a little later this year, but we’re already seeing the pre-rally guests so be extra careful as you’re driving around!

Deadwood History Inc is excited to start their Brothel Tours in Deadwood starting on Saturday. You can find more info on tickets and times here: https://www.deadwoodbrothel.com/

The VFW post # 5969 has their monthly meeting on Tuesday evening 8/4 at 7pm at the VFW building in Deadwood. They’re always looking for new members so if you are a veteran of a foreign war go check it out!

on Sunday August 2 Explore Fitness & Adventures is having their monthly Adventure & Dinner evening. Email Katrina for more details [email protected] and to RSVP.

I’m hoping you all get out and enjoy these last few weekends of summer.

With love from Lead!
